Three Tips for Keeping Your Washing Machine in Great Condition

Just like most appliances, washing machines operate much more reliably if they receive regular, preventative maintenance and care. By doing regularly inspecting of parts and performing some simple washing machine repairs, you can prevent more serious damage that would require professional repairman or even replacement.

I. Check the Hoses on a regular schedule: - Water enters your washing machine through tubes called fill hoses, which are typically made of rubber. If these hoses rupture, water can burst out and flood your home. By periodically examining your fill hoses as part of regular washer repair, you can spot weaknesses in the rubber and replace hoses before they burst. If you are concerned about your fill hoses breaking, you can replace the standard rubber ones with durable stainless steel washing unit hoses.

II. Adjust the Legs: - Washing machines use powerful rotations to clean the clothes inside; this causes washing machines to vibrate while in operation. However, if your unit vibrates particularly violently, it could cause damage to the sensitive electronics inside. You can typically correct this excessive vibration by adjusting your machine's legs to ensure that the machine is completely level. If this doesn't solve the problem, call an appliance repair service. Also be mindful of the size of your wash load. Some materials can bind together in the washing machine causing uneven force inside the bowl. Never over-fill your washer.

III. Clean the Lint Trap - Many washers send lint directly down the drain, but some capture it in lint traps. Cleaning this trap reduces strain on your machine and makes your clothes come out cleaner. The location of the lint trap varies by appliance brand-Maytag machines typically collect lint within the center agitator, while others use lint filters located near the top of the basin.

Washing machine repairs can address simple problems before they get worse. By practicing preventative maintenance, you can significantly extend the life of your washer machine. If you're considering replacing your home appliance, first consider appliance repair. An appliance repair specialist will be able to tell you if your appliance is worth saving, or if you should upgrade to a newer model.

Washer Repair Chicago Company Employee Participated In a 24 Hour Marathon Charity Event

AAA Appliance Service Center™

(October 06, 2012) Chicago, Illinois – On October 15, 2011, James Dolbeare participated in an annual charity event called Extra Life. Extra Life is a 24 hour video game marathon. The donations collected from the marathon goes to children at the Chicago area Children's Miracle Network Hospital.

This is James' third year in participating in this event, and out of his participation in the event this year, James raised and collected $157 towards his goal of $100 (as of the time of this writing). He is also on the team the Wildcats, and so far, the Wildcats have raised and collected $282 towards their goal of $500. So far, all the participants together have collected $1,108,224.

Created by people behind the Sarcastic Gamer website, the Extra Life charity drive encourages teams of gamers, or sole participants, to play games for a 24-hour stretch in order to raise money for the Children’s Miracle Network.

The 2008 and 2009 events raised a total of $302,000, all of which went directly to the charity. The best part: anyone can join in and raise funds simply by registering, creating a personal fundraising page and then hitting up friends and relatives as sponsors.

Entrants in this year's challenge can also choose to contribute proceeds to the Children's Miracle Network Hospital of their choice.
